The Columbia’s Historic Preservation Commission began naming properties to a Notable Properties list in 1998.

Most Notable Properties must meet three criteria: within the city limits, 50 years old or older, and feature architectural or historical importance either through historic features, who lived there or how it was used. See the 2013 nomination form here.

• 2017-1998 — Here’s an Excel file of all of Columbia’s Most Notable Properties. It is provided here with permission from the city of Columbia, per Rusty Palmer, a city planner and staff member of the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. The information includes: Name of the property; property owner at the time of the designation; address, year built, why designated, year designated.
