These city or county buildings are on the Notable Properties List or have been covered in the media:

• 126 N. 10th St. The present stone WABASH Station at 126 N. 10th Street opened Saturday, July 16, 1910, according to the building’s NRHP document. Rail service to Centralia began in 1867.
• 600 E. Broadway, Howard Municipal Building, built 1932. Designed by noted Missouri architect E.J. Eckel.
• 701. E. Ash St., 1940, Art Deco. National Guard Armory Building. Named to the Notable Properties in 2000. According to a Sept. 17, 2017 Columbia Historic Preservation Commission report, it was built as a WPA project and is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by the local firm Deering and Clark.
• 705 Walnut Street, Boone County Courthouse, built circa-1911. This Classical Revival building is the county’s third courthouse, according to City of Columbia Historical Preservation Commission records. It was placed on the city’s Historical Preservation Commission’s Notable Properties Listing in 2002.
• 1600 E. Broadway, Boone County Hospital, now called Boone Hospital Center. This February 2015 issue of the CBT includes an article about the growth of the Boone Hospital Center. Here is a June 2017 column by Al Germond published in the Columbia Business Times.
